The Rim Country Optimist Club was chartered in August 15, 1996 as a member of Optimist International. Optimist Clubs around the world are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids."
Recent projects in Rim Country include:  Student of the Quarter, scholarships, Kid's Fishing Festival, holiday dinners  for over 200 families, judging speech and essay contests, support for school sports, Boy and Girl Scout troops, Lip Sync Contest, Easter Egg Hunt, National Night Out, Firemen's BBQ, refurbishing the children's lobby at the local Child Protective Services, Payson Christmas Light Parade, etc.
Teaming with the Senior Center last October, our  Fashion Show raised over $2,400 for the Payson Unified School District to purchase basic supplies for 492 homeless students.
In February, we joined with the Drama Club, Kiwanis and Rotary clubs to host a Lip Sync Contest for all local high school students.  Cash prizes were awarded to the top three contestants in traditional and comedy categories; $1,100 in prizes were presented that evening. Proceeds from the contest will provide scholarships for graduating seniors this May.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at the Cedar Ridge Restaurant at 5:30 p.m.  Visitors are always welcome.
